CIA Director William Burns known as Russia a “declining” electric power in the very first episode of the intelligence agency’s new podcast, although warning that China is a “central geopolitical obstacle” for the U.S.
The CIA’s podcast, “The Langley Data files,” launched Thursday and showcased Burns as its initial guest.
The podcast will come during the CIA’s 75th anniversary — a time, Burns mentioned, for the agency to “reflect on how we will need to organize ourselves to navigate successfully what is an unbelievably difficult worldwide terrain.”
Burns warned that terrain features a “important power competitors with soaring powers like China,” which he referred to as a “central geopolitical problem.”
