At least 17 people today were killed in an overnight shelling in the town of Zaporizhzhia in southeast Ukraine, local official Anatoliy Kurtev explained early on Sunday.

“As a result of an overnight missile attack on Zaporizhzhia, condominium structures and roads in a household spot of the metropolis have been ruined,” Kurtev, the secretary of the city’s administration, wrote on the Telegram messaging app.

“At this time, 17 persons are recognised to have died,” he said.
